Dr. Wimmer is the founder of the practice HNO am Maximiliansplatz in central Munich, which she has been running since 2017 and, since 2025, has been developing further as a joint practice together with Prof. Dr. Moritz Gröger. Following her training at renowned national and international universities and many years of clinical, scientific and senior physician experience, she brings particular expertise in paediatric ENT, allergology, phoniatrics as well as nasal and paranasal sinus surgery.
Academic Career
Dr. Wimmer completed her medical studies at RWTH Aachen University as well as at further stations at the University Hospital Zurich and at Tulane University in New Orleans (USA), which she attended on a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). She began her specialist training in otolaryngology at the LMU Klinikum Großhadern in Munich under the direction of Prof. Dr. E. Kastenbauer and Prof. Dr. A. Berghaus. In 2005 she was board-certified as a specialist in otolaryngology and subsequently took on a senior physician (Oberärztin) role. Another formative chapter of her career was several years at the ENT outpatient clinic on Pettenkoferstraße in Munich, which substantially broadened both her clinical and diagnostic expertise.

Research & Science
From early on, a particular focus of her work lay both in clinical practice and in scientific research. Among other roles, Dr. Wimmer worked in tumour research in cooperation with the Max Planck Institute in Martinsried and was intensively involved in the field of allergology. Her doctoral thesis as well as further research work and publications address topics from immunology, otolaryngology and allergology. As a scientific advisory board member of the journal HNO-Nachrichten, she also continuously contributes her expertise to professional discourse. Clinical Specialities
Dr. Wimmer's clinical focus lies in particular in the diagnosis and treatment of paediatric hearing disorders, in allergology as well as in the surgical treatment of conditions of the nose and paranasal sinuses. She also has many years of experience in phoniatrics, especially in the treatment of swallowing disorders and the diagnosis of voice, speech and auditory processing disorders (APD).
In her daily work, Dr. Wimmer places great value on a trusting doctor-patient relationship as well as on careful, individually tailored diagnostics and therapy. Her goal is to combine modern medical knowledge with personal care in order to ensure the best possible treatment for each and every patient.
