Im Rahmen ihrer klinischen und wissenschaftlichen Tätigkeit – unter anderem in der Tumorforschung in Kooperation mit dem Max-Planck-Institut in Martinsried – hat Dr. Wimmer an begutachteten Fachartikeln in nationalen und internationalen Journalen mitgewirkt. Die thematischen Schwerpunkte umfassen die Allergologie und Immunologie der oberen Atemwege, die Onkologie und Tumorbiologie im Kopf-Hals-Bereich sowie der Haut, die Otologie und Neurootologie, die Phoniatrie sowie die pädaudiologische Diagnostik.
