Prof. Dr. Gröger has been a partner of Dr. Wimmer at the renowned joint practice HNO am Maximiliansplatz since 2025. With a career spanning over twenty years at the LMU University Hospital in Munich, he brings extensive clinical and scientific experience to the practice. Most recently, he served there as a senior physician and head of the Allergology department as well as deputy head of the department for Phoniatrics and Paediatric Audiology.

Academic Career

Prof. Dr. Gröger completed his medical studies at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München as well as at the Universities of Zurich and Cape Town. He was awarded his doctorate with the highest distinction, summa cum laude. In 2016 he completed his habilitation in Otolaryngology; in 2023 he was appointed Adjunct Professor at the Medical Faculty of LMU Munich.

Research & Science

Furthermore, he headed the interdisciplinary Allergy Centre at LMU University Hospital, which under his leadership was certified as a Comprehensive Allergy Center by the German Society for Allergology and Clinical Immunology (DGAKI). Prof. Dr. Gröger also serves as a reviewer for several international specialist journals as well as for the German Research Foundation. In addition to numerous scientific publications, he is co-author of several European and national position papers and guidelines. Clinical Specialities

In his medical practice, Prof. Dr. Gröger places particular emphasis on the diagnosis and treatment of nasal conditions, especially allergic diseases, on the conservative and surgical management of voice disorders, and on paediatric hearing and speech development disorders. His special expertise in rhinology and rhinosurgery enables him to offer a broad spectrum of modern nasal and paranasal sinus surgery.

His patients particularly appreciate his holistic and individually tailored treatment approach as well as his empathetic and attentive manner.

Professional Engagement & Memberships

Beyond his work at the joint practice HNO am Maximiliansplatz, Prof. Dr. Gröger remains active as a university lecturer and researcher. His commitment to academic teaching and continuing education makes him a valued mentor and expert in his field. He is also engaged in professional advocacy for the advancement of allergological care. He serves as Regional Director Bavaria and Advisory Board Member of the German Association of Allergists (AeDA) and is a board member of the Working Group on Clinical Immunology, Allergology and Environmental Medicine of the German Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (DGHNO-KHC). In these roles, he is particularly committed to improving allergological healthcare for the population and to strengthening the role of allergology within the field of otolaryngology.
